▼ About the Program

  The International Undergraduate Program In Business And Management (IUBM) Is Part Of The Academic Offerings Of The College Of Business (COB), Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU). The Program Is One Of The Three All-English International Programs In The COB, And Is The Younger Sibling Of The International Master Of Business Administration (IMBA Program) Program, And The Doctor Of Philosophy In Business (PhD In Business Program). The COB Was Accredited By The Association To Advance Collegiate Schools Of Business (AACSB) In 2015 And Is Among The Top 5% Out Of The 16,000 Business Schools In The World. The IUBM Program Is Supported By The COB’s 90 Full-Time Faculty Members, 98% Of Which Have Doctoral Degrees.

Vision
The IUBM Program’s vision is to support the College of Business by providing undergraduate academic programs that produce international business and management graduates with emphasis on academic excellence, global competitiveness, and high ethical values.
Mission
The IUBM Program’s mission is to educate international Business and Management students to become academically-excellent, globally-competitive, and ethically-responsible business leaders. Our duty is to produce undergraduates that will create socially-responsible businesses, and improve the management of existing organizations to help raise standards of living. Learning Goals
  1. Business and Management Knowledge IUBM undergraduates will have the business knowledge for tactical and strategic management, and qualitative and quantitative skills essential to advance organizations and improve their performance.
  2. Global Competitiveness IUBM undergraduates will have a global and multicultural perspective, and leadership and communication skills necessary to be a successful leader and effective communicator.
  3. Ethical Values IUBM undergraduates will have an advanced understanding of ethical business practices, and possess high ethical values to improve the moral responsibility of management to all relevant stakeholders.

▼ Future Outlook

The United Nations launched the “2030 Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs), which propose 17 core objectives for global governments and businesses to strive for sustainable development. The Educational Philosophy of the College of Business covers the sustainable development goals of the United Nations and integrates them into education and research.

DESIGNATIONS

  John Francis Diaz, PhD, CEA is an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance and Department of Accounting of the College of Business (COB), Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU). He received both his Bachelor in Development Studies (in 2003), and Master of Business Administration (in 2008) degrees at the University of the Philippines. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Business (in 2012) degree at the Chung Yuan Christian University, Taiwan. He is also a Certified Ethics Associate by the Management and Strategy Institute, Pennsylvania, USA.

  Dr. Diaz is teaching undergraduate, master and doctoral students in the COB. His teaching interest are in the fields of Finance, Investments and Business Ethics. His research covers the areas of international finance and investments, non-linear methodologies and ethics in finance. He also serves as a Research Associate of the Quality Development and Accreditation Office of the COB, which manages and maintains the AACSB accreditation of the college. He is also a recipient of several teaching and research grants from the university, one of which is a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the Introduction of Finance Ethics.

OTHER AFFILIATIONS

Outside of the university, Dr. Diaz is an Editorial Board of Research Academy of Social Sciences, VP-Secretary of the Association of Chinese Management Educators, Associate Fellow of the World Business Institute, and a reviewer of several peer-reviewed academic journals. He has been invited once to do a TEDx Talk, and was interviewed by the Seven Pillars Institute regarding his views on the relatively new academic discipline, Finance Ethics. 

Dr. Diaz advocates more transparency and stronger ethical foundation in the financial services industry.

  • Through the 4 + 1 curriculum, students are allowed to apply in the International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) program at the COB in their senior year, and receive both the Bachelor and Master degrees in five years.
  • The COB is collaborating with several global universities such as: Michigan Technological University (U.S.), University of North Carolina (U.S.), Pittsburg State University (U.S.), Reading University (Britain), SKEMA Business School (France), University of South Australia (Australia), Beijing Institute of Technology (Mainland China), etc. Students could apply for exchange or dual degree program to those schools.

IUBM Program accepts international student applications from October 2017 to June 2018.
Enrollment for Academic Year (AY) 2018-2019 starts September 2018.

Taiwan Government Scholarship

Taiwan Government Scholarship

  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) Taiwan Scholarship encourages outstanding students to pursue academic degrees in Taiwan and to deepen their understanding of Taiwan's academic environment. These enhance exchanges and build friendships between Taiwan and the students’ home countries. The Taiwan Scholarship program is a joint initiative launched by the MOFA, the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the National Science Council (NSC) in 2004.

    Eligibility Requirements
  • a senior high school graduate or above with excellent academic records, and of good moral character
  • not a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan), nor an overseas compatriot student
  • never attended an educational institution in Taiwan at the same level of degree, nor on a Limited Education Program (LEP)
  • not an exchange student through any cooperation agreement between any foreign university (including Taiwan)
  • no scholarship previously revoked by the Taiwanese government
